Mountain
Laurel Bed & Breakfast caters to Gays and Lesbians
and therefore it is very important to
protect an atmosphere of acceptance and
freedom. We have guests from all walks
of life, from all areas of the country,
and they all come together to a place
where they can make new friends and get
away from the world for a weekend or
longer.
Mountain
Laurel Bed & Breakfast, just 20
minutes to downtown Asheville, sits on a knoll
surrounded by mountains in the heart of the Blue
Ridge. As you approach the driveway, the house
greets you with rustic beauty and a setting of
majestic mountain views.

When you step through the door you reach
a haven of comfort and safety, privacy
and companionship. You’ll feel like
you’ve come home to a welcoming
atmosphere where you can be yourself.
Warmth and acceptance are the keywords
and you can settle in to relax, read,
stroll around the property, or bask in
the sun on the deck. We lack formality
and structure and we relish easy-going
fun with laughter, good conversation,
and lazy comfort.
Mountain Laurel Bed & Breakfast sits on a hill surrounded by
trees, woods, and mountains. You feel like
you are in a tree house as you look out
numerous windows in every direction. The
views change almost hourly. Sometimes you
might be locked in the fog so thick you can
almost cut it with a knife; at other times
it is so clear that the leaves stand out in
detail on the trees. The seasons are
distinct and each has traits which are
both endearing and beautiful.
Spring
is a rebirth of the earth, and something
new blooms every month, starting with
the daffodils and the
forsythia which
begin to pop out as early as the end of
March.
Next, the azaleas and crocuses peak out,
followed by the thrift.
As
the temperatures warm, the blueberries
on our back hillside burst into bloom.
The summer can bring some pretty warm
weather and though we do not have air
conditioning, it hardly ever gets
unbearable at Mountain Laurel Bed &
Breakfast. The
breeze on the hill is pretty constant
and keeps things cool.
As
fall arrives, the trees display their
magnificent colors while guests flock to the mountains to
gaze at the spectacular exhibit.
Visitors need only out on the deck to enjoy
nature's splendor.
Winter
is usually sporadic and the temperature can
vary from the teens to the high 50's and
even above. Snow falls on occasion, and we
have had guests get snowed in several times,
so just we get out the sleds or skis and
play in the snow. We share hot
chocolate, play pool, drink spiced wine, and
make great meals for everyone. At times,
getting down the mountain can be a
challenge, and we always hope that we
won’t lose power, though it really
doesn’t matter as we can heat with wood and
cook with gas.

At Thanksgiving you will probably be asked
to share in the turkey, if you want.
Visiting at Christmas you may have to help
decorate the tree or take part in our annual
New Year's Eve Celebration. We welcome
everyone to take part in whatever activity
they find appealing.
Each season at Mountain Laurel Bed &
Breakfast is different and has its own
particular uniqueness. Try us at any season
and you’ll be glad you did!!
