Mountain Laurel enjoys four very beautifully distinct seasons here in the mountains. Spring conveys a rebirth of the earth, where something new blooms every month, from daffodils and forsythia to azaleas, crocuses, rhododendron, and thrift. As summer gives way to fall, the trees wear their colors with pride knowing that this is the time of year when guests and visitors flock to the mountains! If you've never seen the vibrant range of colors the fall season brings to the mountains, you're missing out on quite a show!Hang out on the deck at Mountain LaurelBy winter, temperatures can tend to be sporadic at best, varying from the mid-teens to the mid-fifties. Snow can fall occasionally, leaving some guests stranded for an extended stay. How many vacations have you spent sledding on the side of a mountain? Getting snowed in can be loads of fun! And then to warm you up after playing hard in the snow, hot chocolate, spiced wine, or hot toddies are available to those who need to be warmed up on the inside. Mountain Laurel Bed & Breakfast has a gas stove and can heat the house with wood, as well as a generator, so even if the power were to fail, guests will stay warm, have light, and never go hungry! Often Lyssa will make a pot of Corn Crab Chowder for all who are stranded!
